Still looking for your 'something borrowed?'

Ok, all your brides-to-be, this is a big one!

The world's leading diamond jewellery brand, Tolkowsky is offering the chance for any bride who has bought a Tolkowsky engagement ring with a diamond of 0.50 carats of larger, to borrow the Tolkowsky Diamond Tiara worth over $20,000, free of charge on her wedding day.

We got in touch with Global Brand Manager James Maxwell, to ask him more about this amazing special and pick his brain on all things diamond related. Here are his responses:

Tolkowsky are currently celebrating over 200 years in business. What do you think is the reason for their longevity?

The Tolkowsky family has lead the diamond industry for over 200 years, and this is due in no small part to its tireless innovation, and the fact that it has been responsible for some of the most important developments internationally. Marcel Tolkowsky invented the Ideal Cut (essentially the round brilliant diamond as we know it today), and Gabi & Jean Paul Tolkowsky cut the Golden Jubilee Diamond and the Centenary Diamond  (the largest diamond, and the largest D flawless diamond respectively)

The family is popularly known as The Name Which Changed Diamonds Forever. This unparalleled expertise and craftsmanship carries through to this day, with Tolkowsky being the finest manufacturer of Ideal Cut diamonds in the world.

Could you tell us a little bit more about this amazing offer?

It’s a very simple offer, every customer that buys a diamond engagement ring over 1/2 a carat can have the Tolkowsky  tiara for their wedding day free of charge. We will make sure that the tiara is ready for them delivered to their local retailer in time for their wedding, so they will look like a princess on their wedding day.

A brilliant idea for brides ‘something borrowed’ on their big day, can you describe the tiara to us in more detail?

The tiara is Edwardian inspired, featuring over 400 glittering diamonds, set into white gold. With a retail value of $25,000, the tiara is sure to make an impression sitting atop any brides head. It has been specially designed to accommodate bridal veils if required, but will look equally stunning with or without one.

Have you seen a recent trend in popularity with one specific cut/style of diamond?

The Ideal Cut diamond remains perennially popular, especially with brides-to-be. When considering an engagement ring, it’s important to consider that you will be wearing this for the rest of your life. The Ideal Cut offers unparalleled brilliance and light performance, which is why diamond specialists always recommend the Ideal Cut.

For brides wanting a classic ring, what type of diamond and setting would you recommend?

The classic 6 claw setting with a knife edge band holding a 1ct Ideal Cut is an absolute classic, featured in the Elegance collection from Tolkowsky. You just can't go wrong!! It’s the ring which shows off the majestic diamond, whilst holding it securely with its 6 claws. It’s the ring which in 50 years’ time will look as modern as it does today.

And for those after something more modern?

The Twist collection from Tolkowsky features an architecturally inspired twist of gold around the top of the diamond, which seems to float upon the band. The organic lines of the ring, coupled with the brilliance of the Ideal Cut create a stunning effect.

Finally, any advice you would give a bride & groom when searching for the perfect ring?

Follow your heart!!!! How many other pieces of clothing, or jewellery will you be wearing every day for the rest of your life?? You really need to love the ring as much as you love your husband-to-be. There are many different styles and designs available, there’s something for everyone, so keep looking until you find the right ring for you.
