Weight Watchers is offering all brides-to-be in 2011 named ‘Kate’ free membership.

Over the past 40 years Weight Watchers Australia has helped many women reach their goal weights and has a deep understanding of the motivations women face when planning a wedding.

70% of brides-to-be say they want to lose weight for their big day, with 14% buying their dream dress in a smaller size in the hope they will fit into by their wedding.

Weight Watchers programme director Kate Cody hopes the offer of free membership will inspire budding brides to make a positive, long-term lifestyle change.

"Whilst it’s good to have a short-term goal, it’s important that your approach to weight loss is like a marriage, it’s for the long-term, not a short-term fling."
