Royal wedding fever and Kate's first cover!

This week, Kate Middleton (or Catherine as I've now noticed she's being referred to) got her first monthly magazine cover! Although she didn't actually pose for the pic, UK's Tatler interpreted their own version...

Okay, it's true! I am putting my hand up right now to admit that I love a royal wedding. As much as I'd love to say I remember Diana and Charles' day vividly, I was just a toddler. But I was in primary school when Sarah and Andrew got married and I still remember everyone squealing as 25 of us watched a dodgy little TV screen and saw her stepping out of the Royal carriage.

In a truly unfair gesture, I'm going to completely out someone else in our office right now too. Christine, Bride to Be's recently wed Advertising Director, has the cover poster of the 'Special Royal Edition' of Who magazine from William and Kate's announcement blu-tacked to the wall next to her desk. Yes, there's something about a royal wedding that just gets all of us a bit excited.
So, we're keeping a close eye on the details!

Now, we already know that they are getting married on April 29 - which has been declared a public holiday in the UK - and at the same place his parents got married, Westminster Abbey.

Yesterday, Kate and William released some new details about their big day... via Twitter! (Which I'm loving by the way... how very modern of them)!

Here is the latest:

"Miss Middleton will travel to the wedding service at Westminster Abbey by car along a route that will include The Mall, Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall and Parliament Square.
The wedding service will begin at 11am. The Dean of Westminster will conduct the service, the Archbishop of Canterbury will marry Prince William and Miss Middleton, and the Bishop of London will give the address.
The couple, now married, will return along a Processional Route in a carriage procession to Buckingham Palace. The route will include Parliament Square, Whitehall, Horse Guards Parade and The Mall.
On arrival at Buckingham Palace, The Queen will give a Reception for the couple and guests drawn from the congregation representing the couple’s official and private lives.
The Prince of Wales will give a private dinner, followed by dancing, at Buckingham Palace in the evening, for the couple and their close friends and family."

Of course, what we really care about is THE DRESS. With rumours that UK designer Bruce Oldfield will be creating it officially denied by the palace, bookies are taking bets on everyone from Stella McCartney to Jenny Packham and even David and Elizabeth Emmanuel (who made Diana's dress).

I just wanted to share with you this little tid bit I found on The Huffington Post from Women's Wear Daily. Even though it's likely she'll wear a UK designer on her big day, they've asked fashion's elite - everyone from Karl Largerfeld to Vera Wang (pictured below) - to sketch a dress for Kate.

Enjoy....

Sarah x
